Control loop monitoring report descriptions
rCAAM calculates performance metrics based on control loop parameters and attributes. You set the interval and rCAAM calculates and reports:
Stability
How well a control loop tracks the setpoint
Measurement Oscillation
The number of times the process variable crosses the setpoint
Standard Error
A unit-independent measurement of error
Maximum Error
The maximum deviation of the process variable from the setpoint
Average Absolute Error
The average deviation of the process variable from setpoint
Standard Deviation of Measured Value
The standard deviation of the process variable
Setpoint Changes
The number of times the setpoint has been changed
Average Controller Output
The average value of a controller’s output
Output Deviation
The standard deviation of the control output
Time Out of Range
The total time control output is outside the desired value range
Time Below Low Limit
The number of minutes controller output is below the minimum desired value
See sample reports in the rCAAM brochure
(PDF 1MB).
Time Above High Limit
The number of minutes controller output is above the maximum desired value
Time On Control
The percentage of time that a controller is in the desired mode
Demerit Count
A measure of a loop’s performance based on a weighting of the above statistics
