Project Know-How

From 1989 to 1994 RoviSys managed projects with spreadsheets, manila folders, job notebooks, time sheet software, and disconnected databases. We felt there had to be a better way. Our search for an out of the box solution came up short, so we began to prototype a relational database application to capture our project execution know-how. After six years of internal development and daily use by our operations, we were encouraged by peers in our industry to migrate our project execution system to a software product. In 2000 we began offering GrandView to other value-added service providers.

GrandView - The Product

GrandView is an integrated operations, management and communications system for value-added service providers. It's business management software for project enterprises - any organization performing multiple custom projects for one or more clients. It allows you, from a web browser any time of the day or night , to see how your projects are progressing. Log in, and you can see all relevant project information and documents.

It allows you to store, view and use information on daily operations like time reporting, jobs, purchasing, proposals, orders, costing, invoicing, personnel management and more. It lets you instantly answer operational questions, forecast cash flow and staffing levels, analyze projects and gain control of your company's performance.

The heart of GrandView is its real-time project information library, where you can store and share relevant information on all your projects with employees, subcontractors, clients and anyone else you permit. Typically, this might include proposals, contracts, change orders, shared files, e-mail and progress reports. It can also include invoices, payment history, expenses, hours against a job and other information like company policies.

Technology

GrandView software is designed using the latest Microsoft SQL client/server database technology, object orientated programming and Visual Studio development tools, taking advantage of ActiveX technology, HTML and Active Server Pages. Designed for Microsoft Windows, the interface is friendly and easy to use, while providing sophisticated data collection, reporting and business management tools.

GrandView is built around a SQL Server database and contains a complete set of tools for constructing robust client/server applications and add-ons. Developers can extract any data in the GrandView database for use by other applications or construct sophisticated interfaces that read and write data to the system. Complete flexibility is provided to those requiring special interface requirements.
